biography


Born in 1974 in Lisbon, Portugal, Miguel de Jesus Valente graduated in architecture in 1997. In 2003, he concluded a post graduation in bioclimatic architecture, becoming an expert in sustainable architecture. Between 1997 and 2006 he worked for several companies in different cities of Portugal, and in 2006 he created his own studio, mvarquitectura – sustainable houses workshop, dedicated to projects of sustainable houses and buildings, and small urban interventions.

As an architect, Miguel de Jesus Valente is a highly skilled problem solver with great design knowledge and capabilities. As a professional, and also on a personal level, his main goal is to enhance other people's quality of life through interventions in public space, new buildings, renovations and also small interior changes in houses.

With more than sixteen years of combined experience in developing architectural projects and construction supervision, he has developed a set of skills that are particularly effective at supporting clients, creating conceptual designs, developing architectural drawings and plans and generating construction drawings and specifications.

As a professional, as well as on a personal level, he his very adaptable and a fast learner. Miguel de Jesus Valente is a portuguese native speaker who is also fluent in english with a good knowledge of french and spanish.
